DIS problems
I have a 92 Ranger w/a 2.3 L .
Lately its had a miss and keeps throwing the check engine light. I replaced both coil packs, plugs and plug wires. Still having the same problem, allthough the miss is not quite as bad.
I called around for a new DIS module thinking that maybe this was the problem, prices ranged from $100 to $240. Being the penny pincher that I am I bought one from a salvage yard for $40. Good idea huh?? NOT!!
I installed the DIS from the salvage yard and it would'nt hit a lick!! No fire, no rough start, NOTHING!! So I reinstalled the old DIS module, the one that it was running with minutes before, and still it wont hit a lick!!
I took the DIS I bought from the salvage yard to Autozone to be tested and they say it's working properly.
I have no idea what else could be the problem. I've heard some say that Autozones tests are unreliable, so I'm thinking of returning the salvage yard DIS and buying a new one.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be Greatly Appreciated!!
Thanks!!
