After Ford agreed to buy back the lemon '04, I ordered the replacement '05 on September 29th. They told me today it has been shipped by train already, and could be here any day.
Whoopee.
Meanwhile, the '04 is still acting, as I said earlier, like a puppy that knows it is going to the pound. No problems for about 800 miles.
The new one is basically the same...Supercab 250 Lariet, 6.0, auto, shortbed, White/beige, with all the bells and whistles, including a power rear window.
Congratulations, I will be ordering mine in one week, a bit anxious I am getting.
Mine on the other hand is going to be radically different from what I had
Congrats on the new 05 coming . I bet your like an 8 year old boy on Christmas Eve . Have your driven the new 05's with the improved turning . I here its an awesome improvement .
I keep reading how much better it is . And I keep wanting to go see for myself . But I know if I do I will catch a bad case of the wantsies . So I stay away . My goal is to wait until a complete new design comes out . By then my truck now will have done its job . BTW Tim , I have been trying to put a picture of my truck in . How is this done ? I cant seem to figure it out .
It will be a CC SWB DRW......my trailer is big enough to need a bit bigger truck.
I took one home to make sure it will fit in the garage...I will not get anything that won't fit.......in the garage
On 12-3 I was told it was on the train, and would be here shortly. Well, it's been 12 days, and the dealer just told me they got the invoice, and it will be here shortly. Boy, it's hard to wait.
My 05' F350 XLT, PSD, supercab showed up at the dealership today and i am damn impressed with it compared to my 99' V10. I did drive the truck but the shop hadnt done the pdi yet so i was a tame trip around town. The 05' is a monster compared to the 99'.
I ordered mine Oct. 23 and it arrived Dec. 18th. I am putting a knapheide utility bed on it and it's behind schedule, dealer took it there already but bed wont be ready to install till Jan 4. So i probably wont have truck back now till end of Jan.
I once had a friend who managed a dealership, he's now retired. He told me saying it's "on the train" means the dealer doesn't know where the heck it is? He said one time he was told a truck was put on a train in Mexico that morning, he called the anxious buyer with the news, that afternoon the guys truck showed up on a transport truck at the dealership in Wisconsin. That was one darn fast train! He enjoyed making that call to the buyer.
Anyhow, good luck to those of you waiting. We have all been there and how great it is when we get the call that it's in!
