I ordered a 9 inch lift for my 1979 F-150 4x4. I was wondering if the drive shaft will need to be lengthened, if so, how much? It has a C-6, NP205, and a 8 foot bed if that makes a differencce.
Do the lift and then see what you need . . . don't follow anybodys "you need to lengthen it "X" inches for this much lift". I have lifted my truck 12" now and have not had to touch the rear driveshaft. Your front driveshaft may be a different story and you'll probably need to modify your crossmember that goes under the tranny/t-case adapter.
Are you using blocks in the back? If so you might consider a shackle flip which will push the rear axle forward slightly, which helps with the driveshaft issue but will also turn your pinion up a bit possibly saving you having to use angle shims.
