$75 for a test drive

$75 for a test drive
So that's where the 'advertizing fee' goes.....
My wife got an offer in the mail today. Test drive an 05 Mercury and they give you an American Express gift card worth $75. She dosen't even know why she was picked to get it? I've had similar offers to test drive a Miata but that was because I sent in for literature. I took the test drives at two different dealers and was up front about telling them I wasn't read to buy one. They had no problem with that... I got to drive a Miata and got free sunglasses...
Anyway, the point is it seems like a waste of money on their part to make these offers?

I got the same thing for signing up for info on the Mariner. I test drove it like 2 months before I got the thingie in the mail though, and already had the Tribute on order because the Mercury people were such 'holes when I went to see if they would price match. I wonder if they would sign off on it if I brought it in since I really did test drive it...

We only got a $50.00 offer to drive any Ford. I think it's a $50.00 Visa or Master Card. It came in small brochure with all of the new models listed. We are going next weekend to try out a new Freestyle.
