whats the symptoms of a bad temp sensor? my 302 fills like it is only hitting on 6 cylinder and it has a really gassy smell. this all started acting up when it got colder in Minnesota.

I'm curious what a temperature sender would have to do with what sounds to me like a serious misfire issue. What does the temp guage read? I'd check the basic's first. Spark and fuel at all cylinders (plugs, wires, rotor, cap) and then let us know what you find. Good Luck.

the temp gauge makes it in the normal range barley. i thought it mite be temp guage or something because the engine is choking out like it getting to much gas. ill start to pull plugs tomarrow to see what they look like.

go ahead and replace the temp sensor if the sensor itself has alot of miles on it, it will make you pull your hair out like it did to me man trust me. I had a bad temp sensor and it caused my truck not to startup after the truck got warm on me sucks, but it's very true. This is an important sensor for these 87-96 f150 trucks....

running better
put on new cap, rotor, sparkplugs and wires and now its running prety good except at idle. question on the heads when putting in the new plugs autolite 25 the threads were not long enough.the plugs that were inthere are autolite 605. does anyone no what heads i have and what the gap should be for these plugs?
