NAPA test strips?
I have a 90 7.3. I bought test strips for the coolant at NAPA. It tests "nitrite", "glycol", and "ph". The glycol is freeze point. I have been assuming that the nitrite has to do with cavitation, and is controlled with the additive I bought from Ford. If that is correct, what is the ph for and what do you do if the reading is bad? Also what is the correct reading for the ph? The scale goes from 6.5 to 11. Thanks for any help. I know gas engines pretty well, but since this is my first diesel, I am in some unknown territory. Thank you all again for all the help since I bought this truck.

ph is for the electrolisis(acidic level)that helps rot every thing from the inside,I do beleave the same additive treats it all,at least the stuff I use does.read your bottle it should tell ya,you what your ph low like 6 or 7.
