Just a thought about GP's
After my experience with GP's and reading the threads. IF your engine was gas you would replace the 'spark plugs' every 50K with out thinking as part of the tune up. I know Gp's are more expensive but replacing them every (pick a figure) would be cheap insurance. No broken tips in cylinders etc. Just a thought!

Gps do not have a replacement cycle in the maintenance manuals to my knowledge. They usually become part of a problem then are addressed, ie hard starting. My OEM ones lasted 100K then 1 went, changed it, then another etc etc. Finally changed all 8 and things are just lovely again probably for several years.
Timing too advanced and the use of ether will kill GPs faster than anything, next to a push button mod held on 10 seconds too long........
