Im sure this is posted somewhere else but i cant find an answer. I put 17x9 cobra r's on my 96 ranger today and the font wheels are draging on my lower shock mounts. It has a 3/4 drop using belltech i-beams in front. If any one has a sugestion on how i can make these wheel work i would really apreciate it my trucks whole set up revolves around them
i think i found a solution if any one is currious. turns out that beltech i-beams do not have a steering stop welded onto them and this allows them to bottom out on my lower shock mount and grind the in side of my brand new cobra rs adding spacers plus a steering stop should help but if anyone has another sugestion i would appreciate it
Just a quick update the 1/4 inch spacers alone did not work so im going to try a bigger spacer or a 5x4.5 to 5x4.5 adapter if it even exist if not guess im just going to have to machine and weld on a complete custom steering stop. Last Resort I'll see if I can find the Cobra R in a 7.5in width and just run those on the front.
I'd look for narrower wheels before I started using spacers that large. Which Cobra R wheels are you using, the 95 style, or the 00 style? I think the 95 style wheels can be had in 17x8 size as well.
Got 1&1/2 in adapters today it seems to have solved the problem im nowhere close to rubing now but they cost me $58 bucks each hated to spend that much money but i wanted billet adaptes since im trusting these things to hold my truck off the ground.
my advice to any one who wants the cobra r wheels is to try an find narrower ones for the front.
