Whats the cheapest way to put a 5.0 in a ranger? I have a 93 extended cab with a 4.0L. First of all which engine would be the best? One out of a mustang gt, thunderbird, F-150? or maybe a 351 EFI out of a f-150. Second, could i use the existing rear end in the ranger? Third, can i use the 5-speed tranny thats currently in the ranger? Any suggestions would be great.
cant use your tranny,,, unless you want to break it!!
I used a 88 gt motor,, and a C-4 out of a pickup..
you need the special motor mounts ,, special headers.. and you need to figure what you want to do for induction ,, keep the efi,, or go carb,,,, both ways requires alot of work,,,,
