Question Need Help!!!

about a month ago i was driving and my truck died on me i found a fuse blown so i replaced it and it worked fine now about 2 days ago i started my truck to let it warm up when i came back outside it was not running same fuse blew. the fuse that keeps blowing is a 30 (amp) maxi fuse that runs fuel line heaters, glow plug controller, and powertrain control system relay coil. what should i do and where do i start?

In all likelihood, the fuel heater is shorting. Either the wire that comes from the harness and attaches to the heater on the outside of the fuel filter bowl has chafed away and shorted to ground... or the heater itself inside the fuel filter bowl is shorting. First thing is to get down in there and unplug the wire and look at it - if it's not chafed, then it's probably the heater itself shorting inside the filter housing. If that's the case you can just leave it unplugged for now to be able to drive the truck... but you should fix it if you live somewhere cold...

if it is the fuel heater itself what would happen if i left it unplugged i live in northern iowa so it is cold and how much would a new fuel heater cost i took the truck to a ford dealer and they said it was a 650$ part that seems real high to me

$650 is for the whole fuel filter assembly brand new (but hey at least it comes with a new filter too!) You can buy just the heater separately for a lot less. If you live in northern IA I would not risk just leaving it unplugged. If the paraffin particles in the diesel precipitate out in the cold and clog your few-micron filter, you're stuck until it warms up again.
