My wife and I are going to Las Vegas tomorrow night. We haven't been in 18 years. We are staying at Caesar's (great memories)
I know it is all new---the last casino I was in was the Silver Slipper! What things should we absolutely see? We have three days and nights and nothing planned. We are up for almost anything...

The must see list in Vegas really depends on what you are into. The water show and art galleryat Bellagio, Canals at Venetian, Margaritaville at The Flamingo, Top of the World Restaurant at the Stratosphere, Lance Burton at the Monte Carlo, and Folies Bergere at Tropicanna are all excellent. The city has everything from high class to extreme low class, it just all depends on what you like.
And if you do go to the stratosphere, you have to ride the roller coaster, highest one in the country and the hot shot is the tallest ride , the view is awsome, and at the new york new york the roller coaster there is fun. and if you got some time go to see the hoover dam in a rented ferreri......
I would strongly second the motion to go see Hoover Dam. Take the tour into the hydro plant inside the dam. Its awe-inspiring, the size of that piece of concrete.
NFR is in fact going on now and I would suggest that you pick up a "Whats On" as soon as you check into the hotel. Lots of info regarding shows, restraunts etc etc. And whatever you do, dont let your wife talk you into walking the strip. You will hate yourself if you do.
I think it depends on whay color the threat level is at the present time. I was there two months ago and you could go into the dam. The security screening was similiar to the airport.
The Freemont Experience light show is somewhat impressive. If you are cheap you can go on a tour for a timeshare and possibly get tickets for the rodeo free. The wife and I got a free helicopter ride over the strip and through the Luxor spotlight (supposed to be for good luck). Still lost.

I remember when I was in Vegas every other car on the Strip was a black Viper. One of the better vacation spots we booked. I would highly recommend seeing the Hoover Dam as well. We went, but never took the tour, but visited the gift shop
We've got friends that live there. They took us to some of the "off the radar" points of interest. The one I enjoyed quite a bit was in a little town southwest of Las Vegas called Blue Diamond. The Sheriff's office and a convience store share the same building there. We bought a couple large beers and sat on the Sheriff's front porch to drink them.
Oh yeah, don't forget to bring your walkin' shoes!

Ya, Blue Diamond is a nice little town. There is really nothing to do there but Vegas is growing so rapidly that in about five or ten years it will not be by itself anymore.
