replacing a windshield
that last window post got me thinking. Does anyone know some good tips and tricks on how to remove and install a new windshield? or similar glass pieces in a vehicle? thx

removing my windshield in my 79 wasn't that hard. I just pulled out the piece of trim that runs in the middle of the gasket and then cut the rest of the gasket away from the windshield. it was cracked pretty bad too, but it came out in one piece

If your talking about an older windshield with the rubber surround, all you need is some medium twine for the inner groove, soapy water for lube. Have a helper hold and position the window outside while you use the twine move the rubber back over the inside lip on the windshield frame. If its the glue in you need those messy tubes of glue made for windshield installs, PPG etc. has info on this.
