Yesterday, my wife called to say the info center was telling her to check the advance trac system and the indicator light was on the dash. We had high winds here (gusts to 55mph) and she said that she caught a really good gust about the time it came on. We only have 550 miles on it and have never had the advance trac. After she shut it down (at the direction of her all knowing husband!?!?!) the condition cleared and no repeats for the rest of the day. Has anyone had this problem or am I on an island??? Thanks
I had my check advance trac light come on for no reason before, luckly while I was on my way to my dealer for an appointment. They pulled a code and had to recalibrate the system.
I would say if the light comes on again to go into the dealer.
Happened on mine a few times too. Once I happened to be taking it into the shop anyways and they just reset it. The other times, it just went away itself (???)
My battery died and now my AdvanceTrac turns off when I start my 2005 Explorer. I'm concerned with going to the dealer to reset. I don't want them to charge me out the you know what. Does anyone know how to reset the advance trac or how much Ford Dealerships charge to reset.
Does anyone know anything about the advance trac warning light. My battery died and now advance trac shuts off when car is started and the warning light is on.
You will need to get a the code pulled. This requires a scan tool that can read chassis codes. Usually at the dealer or somewhere that has a dealer type scan tool. There are alot of parts involved with the system. On the wifes 03 Explorer it required reloading the as-built info into the abs controller after a new clock spring was installed to correct steering angle fault.
