Need help BLend door plenum replacement

Help anyone I need some help please. the front heater is out rear works fine followed all the advice I found so far aboout the blend door and no luck. the actuator is working but the blend door or plenum part above the actuator is broken and needs to be replaced my guess it the entire dash with have to be removed I have never done this before and am concerned about the passenger side are bag is there anything special I need to do to be able to get to the blend door or an easier way of doing this?

The fix is in ...........

The fix for the blend door is in this forum. You may have to hunt a little bit but it is well worth the search. Replaced mine and life is cool or hot, which ever I choose. Do a key word search "Blend door fix" or just "Blend door". Or something along those lines. The thread is probably closed to new post, but the information should still be there.

first time post for me, anyway my 98 navig has no front heat but the back heat is fine. sounds like the blend door to me but i have no idea where it might be located? any suggestions would be great or advice on a manual to purchase. thanks guys

Mine turned out to be the twist **** being broken on the inside. It had a little crack that would not let the main shaft turn, I got lucky.

would you believe this

I went to change out me blend door actuator today and i found a big surprise, the actuator was fine but the piece that the actuator spins was broken into pieces. something must have jammed the door and the actuator just busted the plastic rod that hangs down from the door. well i screwed the door closed so i have heat for now and will either do a repair in the spring or trade in a 98 navigator with no ac. if you are attempting the actuator swap dont be worried its really not that hard.
