I have the Spring Air Versailles model and it has 3 inches of the memory foam on top of the mattress then a pillow top.
This is the best bed ever! Money well spent!
The mattress is about 20 inches so sheets are hard to find, but I did find a great deal at Cosco...
Bought a 3 inch memory foam to go on top of the mattress. It has been fantastic. I'm a side sleeper and my hips would hurt just about every morning. Haven't had a problem with soreness since. They had them at Sams Club for about half what they cost everywhere else.
I bought a 4 lb memory foam that is 4" thick on eBay. It is different, sorta like sleeping on a firm marshmellow. If you have any joint problems I highly recommend it. They are for sleeping on your side or back - not your tummy.
Most beds that you sleep on, the longer you sleep on them, the more you hate them. I look forward to going up to bed and laying back on this stuff. I had my doubts at first but after 3 months I really like it.
This is exactly what I've been wanting to ask. I have problems with both rotator cuffs, and seem to always sleep on my side, which further aggravates them. I'm getting one of these ASAP after hearing all of this.
my wife and i spent over $1200 on a memory foam bed and i say its one of the biggest wastes of money in the house. i went from sleeping on it to sleeping on a 25 year old matress for a week while i was hunting and i did not notice any difference in my sleep or how i felt in the morrning.
***king sized memory foam matress, make offer(and i will through in the excerize cycle and jogging stroller she had to have as well)
My friend has one on his bed, and he loves it, I took a lay on it, and loved it too. I'm going to go with the pad for the top, instead of the whole matress.
Wife wanted the whole bed but I vetoed that and went with a pad to lay over the mattress. We have been very pleased with it. I feel your pain on the excercise cycle. Treadmill, weight rack full of hand weights, yoga cd's with mat and of course outfits to wear, Pilates cd's with mat and of course more outfits to wear.
1 BIG EXPY, you forgot about the Richard Simmons video tapes and cassettes, the videos from anyone else on tv who can take the weight off, the elastic belly wraps that "melt away the fat". There's the diet books, the diet food, the diet pills, the hand weights, the different work out groups, the different gyms and fitness centers, and the rowing machine. Many more things I can't remember right now.
The only thing lighter around here is the bank account.
Like most of the posts on this thread, I have nothing but praise for these memory foam pads. I have a mattress with the pillowtops on both sides and I thought that would be enough to get a good nights sleep. That is until we bought one of those memory foam mattress pads.
My wife suffers from arthritis and I have lower back problems frequently and this memory foam pad has improved our sleep amazingly. We wouldn't sleep without one!
I did find they tend to run a bit small, so we went and got a size larger and will cut it down a bit (we have a queen-size bed and just ordered a king-size pad) so it covers better. The old queen-sized one, I'm taking to work at the fire station so I can sleep there too!
Anyway, my recommendation is to buy one...you won't regret it!
I'm looking forward to getting one of the mattreses. My sister in law works at the tempur-pedic factory and she got one free for herself after being there 90 days. Now she is allowed to purchase 2 a year for friends or family at factory cost ($400 for a queen size). I'm going to pay her to get one for me (and the wife) for Christmas! I'll let you know how it works out!
I am thinking I should get one...I have an old mattress and need to either buy a new one or upgrade it with a featherbed or memory foam pad. I think if I did get one it would be a tremendous improvement over my 20 year old mattress.
I have been looking on smartbargains.com and overstock.com, comparing the prices with the ebay auctions. Looks like they are available for $50-$90 reduced price....depending on how thick the pad is. I am guessing the thicker the better.
I have a queen size....so I should order a king size pad based on what I am reading.
