Chev engine in Ranger
Hey guys,
Just bought an 89 Ranger that has a Chev 305 installed 2 owners ago. Truck is in excellent shape, ran ok (for a chev) and the price was more than right. Barks the tires on the 1-2 shift, spins forever when you rug the pedal, makes me happy.
Conversion was done halfway decently, has an electric fan. The only things I don't like are the motor mounts welded to the frame, firewall dented to clear moronic rear-mounted distributor, and engine is butt-ugly - not even painted, stock air cleaner. Needs a ball-joint for safety, cats & a tuneup for the e-test. Will eventually get a 5.0 HO or maybe rebuild my 351 EFI but for now I'm sticking with SBC.
Just wondering if there is anyone else out there with an SBC in a Ranger? It's becoming a half-way popular swap over here.
