My local junk yard is asking $850 for a complete axle, if he had one. Is this a fair price? I want to change from the TTB axle in a '95 F-250. I also read in another post that I would need the track bar and the frame bracket for it, along with the F350's steering linkage and pitman arm. Is this true?

 

I did this same mod to my 1990 F250 in 1998. Back then I paid $800 for the Dana 60 axle. So $850 seems reasonable to me some 6 years later. I don't remember on the steering linkage, but you will need the track bar and associated bracketry.

I agree, a custom axle will cost you 1800+. I think 850 is a pretty good deal. Good luck and let us know how it comes out.
