To flash, or not to flash?

Ok. Time for the experienced ones to weigh in on the latest flash.

My '04 (built in May) will be going into the dealer in the near future for a couple little things (seat heaters for one thing) and I'm wondering if I should get the latest flash. I'm happy with the performance and the fuel economy (19 - 20 highway), and if I get the latest flash, I'll have to update my Predator.

So does anyone think I would get any benefit from the newest flash?

If you don't have any concerns, I would not have it flashed. I had mine done and don't have any complaints, but my fuel milage was marginal, definatly not 19-20 mpg.

I am having mine flashed next week to see if it will "cure" my only issue with the truck. If you like how it runs now don't let them flash it.

I have Jan-04 built 6.0..It's still quiet (many explanations given here) It has a very, very minor surge at times when I first put it in gear either hot or cold..It has 8000 miles and has been serviced twice and to the selling dealer for a hole in the lower radiatior hose (picked up that way).

I leave a note attacked to the dash every time. " Do not reflash or change any computer in this truck, I like it the way it is". They accommodated my wishes. If you like and enjoy it it don't touch it. Count your blessings; I read some of the horror stories on this site and count mine....Good Luck to all

Based upon your build date, you more than likely already have RC2 for the '04 motors. Its not clear whether there is a newer one or not. It started going into the April build trucks, and became available for updates in July. It is what I am running and I'm very happy with it.
