My research on www.Rangeforum seemed to indicate the most popular performance chip for the 4.0 SOHC Ranger is the "superchip". Is any one out there able to comment on this ? Will it deactivate the speed limiter? Who sells it ? Any info appreciated.

I have a Superchip in my '99 3.0. LOVE IT!!!! Had a JET prior to it, not impressed with it at all.
I bought mine from motorhaven.autoanything.com last year for $175. I believe the normal price is $225.

Yes. Can get away with 91. I went a step further & tuned my Inlet Air Temperature sensor (IAT) to optimize the fuel. Used a 10K resistor in line at the harness. Also, relocated it to the front of the rad supoort to take in a colder air signal. Works great!!!
