Hello,
I have an '83 F150 with the 300 and the Carter 1bbl. The Truck had a smog pump and all, but I have removed and plugged most of that. What I was wondering is what carb I can put on there that will be just a basic carb without any emmissions junk and fewer vaccume lines and whatnot. I have seen some Holley carbs in Summit, but they say they fit 70's 300's and I was wondering if there were different mounts on the intakes or if they are just playing the vehicle specific game. Any help is appreciated. Thanks,

Yes you can go with a Holley remanufactured carb.... but will not perform like it use to.... best thing to do is go to a scrap yard and find one without EGR and smog stuff.
Hey, when I got my 85 F150, the guy had taken off the air pump but left the hoses there unplugged. I probably should be plugging the hoses right away, yes? What have been the detriments to my system by not having the hoses plugged for the last 5 months, if any?
