I just bought a 2004 f150 with a stock Ford single cd player. If I find a 6 disc Ford cd player for that year truck is it a direct swap. ( just take one out and plug the other in)?

if its the same size head unit yes, but most have a remote changer (kind of like a box) that you would need to find a place mount to, and run wires to it. I know of a 1997 F150 that has the changer in the rear left door, but the door doesnt open. There are also other aftermarket stereos that have changers in them, and they are probably alot better than any stock ford stereo. If you get any aftermarket stereo head unit then youll most likely need a stereo kit that has an wiring harness and a plastic piece that fills in the extra space.
