okay i had purchased my 94 F-350 turbo diesel about 1 year ago i hadn't put it on the road until about a month ago but it seems from sitting ive been having many diffrent problems.1 is when i start my truck in the morning it smokes really bad and wants to cut out until i give the throttle a little bit of a punch. Also when im driving down the road at a constant speed of like 35 mph it also wants to cut out.THe cutting out isn't like its gonna stall its more like its trying to shift but i cant so it drops a gear and tries to shift again. Could this be a pump of any kind having to do with injectors or the transmission.
im not sure if its leaking fuel around the injectors. but ill check tomrrow, whats weird is it dosent mis fire all the time.I talked to some people and said i could possibly be the fuel injector pump cause you can smell raw fuel coming out of the exaust and maybe it's throwing it out of timing.
Run some good additive in the fuel, double dose it if necessary. There is a possibility there was water in the system when you put it to bed and/or there is a buildup of crud in the IP and injectors.

It would be much cheaper to have the injectors tested before you dive into the ip.Could be an injector sticking open, dribbling fuel when it shouldnt.
Could be there is something in one of the injectors. This would affect the spray pattern and the engine would feel like it is stalling but actually has a slight miss in it. And when ya get "miss" involved in anything, you're gonna have a problem. Richen up the fuel additive (cleaner) and run it. You may be having a problem with glow plugs too on the start up. Lots of white smoke might be raw fuel. Try using the block heater a few hours before starting and see if it starts up a little easier and less smoke. DONT work that starter too long, very sensitive to work.
