Check delta and weatherguard-thick metal, clean look, and durable, depandable latches and hardware.

Has anyone seen the bedside toolboxes made by Tuffy?

Fortunately I don't carry more than $75 worth of tools in my truck's box. But now I know not to keep anything of valua back there. I guess either way I'm screwed.... takes just as long to get into a Super Duty as it does a Deezee box.

I don't even know what they look like to begin with. Should I just assume it's a rectangle box with a lid? heh.

I just wanted something to throw some basic tools in to get 'em out of my truck. Plus I was wanting to put my hi-lift jack (48") and the base in there too. So pretty much just a bin to throw off road garbage in. So I won't have alot of high dollar stuff in there. I don't want it going over the bedrails cuz I don't like the way those look, just wanted something that could sit flush in the back.

Sorry, I'm camera disfunctional, and don't know of a link for it. It fits perfectly flush with the bed rails, and the width is just about the same as the total width of the bed. It has dual lockable latches, and as with any toolbox, you can mount it permanently if you choose. The dimentions are, 61" wide x 19" high x 20 3/4" deep, the box is made by Contico, I'm sure you'll find it on their website, good luck.

Gee, all they have to do is steal your whole truck, then they'll have all the time in the world to open it.

If you carry around about 3 grand in tolls in your box like me and would sleep better knowing they are safe, buy a McWelco. The box I have was 800, sits below the rails, is 27"wide by whatever the bed rails are deep and wide and has a push lock like the others on each side and a round internal lock with 1/4" steel around it(cannot be cut or picked). McWelco had a seminar where they played around with opening different manufacturers. You would not believe how easy most of those boxes are to open. McWelco's can be opened in about 20 seconds.

Maybe if I lived in Long Island, where you use your tool box to carry around your wine sampling kit, then I wouldn't have to worry about security, hmmmm?

I also have the Husky from Home Depot. No box will keep a thief out! All locks/chains/boxes/covers etc. are designed for one purpose only. That is to keep honest people honest. If someone is going to take your stuff they are gonna take it no matter what. I am a fireman, and trust me there is no lock or building etc. I cannot get into. It may not be pretty when I am done but that obviuosly is not my concern, and neither is a thiefs. So as for my tool chest.... It is filled with the cheap tools that someone gave me for x-mas and those that I have acquired over the years. If they want them I am not out my expensive shop tools etc. I also keep mu turnouts in it to keep them out of the AZ sun, if they want those what are they gonna do with them?

I think we're talking about 2 different types of tool boxes here, mine was bought, and intended to be for storage, not 8,000 lbs of equipment. It still amazes me to see all these professional contractors riding arround with 28ft extention ladders bungee corded on their ladder racks same difference.

AMEN, glad you brought it up, I guess I'll have to start taking the keys out of my truck at night.

The Home Depot box is nice but they do not stock it in black. The black one is a special order item http://www.contico.com/tmawb60bk.htm and an extra $100.

What about the Kobalt boxes at Lowe's? I will have mine under a tonneau, so my only concern really is that it fits below the rails. Anyone have one on a Super Duty?http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?actio...000&lpage=none
