Question Remote start on a Diesel?

Hey folks,
I would like to hear from anybody that may have tried to install a remote starter on a diesel. I would like to know if it has been tried, or if anybody knows of a kit for it.
Thanks

As long as the unit supports diesel's it will work. My wifes new 05 PSD - SD
is scheduled to have one installed as soon as it arrives. Astroflex autostart 5204 model.

Works just great and comes with other nice features. I have a Code alarm its what the dealer installs. Some of the features it includes is a remote that tells you if the truck is being tampered with and when its running, it has turbo cool down and lets you remove key and leave running for quick stops. I had a local dealer tech do the install on the side and it took him over an hour and a half. I think having a professional is well worth it on this one. Lots and lots of wires. Good luck either way.

I'm using an INFORMER from Prestige that has the remote start. It works pefectly on my diesel. Even has a function that allows me to auto cycle the engine when the temperatures drop. I can have it start every so often to run for how ever long I specify. The two-way remote can transmit for over 1/4 mile and the truck sends status reports back to the remote from over a mile away. The remote also let's me know where and what someone may have done to the truck. The same remote will even switch over to operate up to 3 vehicles with Prestige systems. The turbo cool down is a simple program setting, but you really need an idle controller to go along with it to prevent possible wet stacking during long idles.

Ive been installing since 1974,and all the above are good units, i do about a half dozen diesel trucks a year where i work, if there installed properly they will not give you any problems.

I had a Python Remote Start & Alarm installed.
It has a 10 second delay for the glow plugs (adjustable).

Bought my truck yesterday and had the remote start added today! Mine is the dealer installed option that allows for the warming of the glowplugs and then starts the truck. I've only used it once but I'm sure I'll get some use out of it.
