Cool Spindle Stud

Any body have or know where to get one for a 1994 F150 4.9L 4X4 with a 3.08 diff? Waiting to here back from ford but it looks like it is a discontinued part.

There are 5 studs that retain the spindle to the knuckle.

Ok, I gotcha. Your best bet is going to be to go to a hardware store and replace them with grade 8 bolts. Make sure you get grade 8, anything else will just shear off. Not sure on the size or anything, but you can just take one into the store and match it up.

They are still available, get pt. # from your dealer and call around. If you can't find them do like andym said,to a point.Use a wheel stud,it is splined which will hold in place in knuckle. But call around first, they are out there.

You can't use a wheel stud. For one, they're too small. Second, the spindle is not threaded, the knuckle is. If you could find a wheel stud that small, you would only be able to thread it up to the splines on the stud. Third, what would using a wheel stud accomplish that a grade 8 bolt won't?

Right, this spindle is not threaded, either is the knuckle. The knuckle is internally splined and the stud is externally splined,Using a regular bolt will work (no matter what grade) But sometimes the head of bolt is too wide or too thick and will have to be ground-down to work.to avoid clearence issues with spindle(where it comes through knuckle.
