need help

My 1988 f150 has the type of front hubs that fall off when you remove the wheel. I would like to know if I can change them to the kind that is bolted to the rotor hub.

There's a conversion kit, but you have to swap everything from the knuckle out, and it's expensive. It would be easier to get a complete Dana 44 from the junkyard with the right gears in it and swap the front axle.
