I have a 1985 with a holley/motorcraft 4190-EG carb on it. It has the electronic governer on it. It looks just like a regular holley 600cfm vac secondary with some attachments on it. I would like to upgrade to a more modern carb if there is one available. The problem with this carb is the fuel bowls both have vents, so, living in CA with annual inspections, I need a carb that is approved for a swap.
Holley was no help. I emailed their tech line and the tech said that this was an old carb and that a more modern design was available, but wouldn't tell me what it was, so I think he didn't know.
All Holley street carbs are 50 state legal unless stated other wise in catalog. Your sure this has a govenor on it? A Holley 4160 600CFM will bolt right on just order it with Ford auto trans kickdown if you have an auto. One thing to be aware of most Holleys & other carbs have open vents even 50 state legal carbs.
