Question about Gauges...I need some help

I have a 1968 f100... the truck has a 351 windsor engine. My questions is, when I got the truck it had the original gauges, with the idiot lights for oil and voltage. I started noticing people using the bigger truck gauges from 1967-1972. The ones with the round gauges. Well I found a set. After installing them, which was just clipping it into place and hooking up the ground. When I started the truck to see if they worked ...well the gas hand moved to about 3/4 full which wasnt correct, and the temp and oil pressure gauge both moved all the way over. Does anyone out there know how to get them to work, is there anything I can do to get them to work.

Thanks,
Steve

I do believe you will have to change the sending units for temp and oil pressure to units designed for gauges. Stock units designed for gauges should work.

As for the fuel, I can't help you.

I changed the sending unit for the oil pressure to one for the gauge, I did that before I tried the gauges, but it still doesnt work. Is there any wiring changes that have to be made, If someone out there has made the conversion to the gauges, please let me know what you had to do to make them work
