What to do
I Want To Buy A 96 F-150 To Make Into An Off-road Monster. I Want To Put In A Hi Performance 5.8l With About 420 Hp. I Have Everything Writen Down On Paper What I Want To Put On It To Make It Everything That Ive Dreamed Of. My Question Is, What Would I Need To Do To It To Make The Truck More Durable With The Suspension And Drive Train? well personally if you don't already have the truck (which I assume by your statement wanting to buy a truck) then find a 96 2wd with a good body. then go buy a 70s era 3/4, or single wheel 1 ton 4x4, and swap bodies that will give you a good strong running gear, and is cheaper, and easier to lift. Next forget the 351, nad drop in a 514 or so stroker with around 600+hp. but thats just me, I like body swaps, and lotsa hp to start with cause you will be updating for more latter anyhow.
