Posted earlier question regarding no power problem for my F100, the problem I have is I get nothing from the ignition when I turn the key. I have checked voltage and get 12V from battery to soleniod and 12 v to starter, when I jump across the soleniod from large side terminal to large side terminal the truck turns over but I get no spark to the coil so it just continues to turn over without starting. I have no power to the electrical system when the ignition is turned on, i.e. no lights etc. Any help would be appreciated. Thank-You
check the fusible links at the solenoid, make sure they are on the bat. side, not the starter side.
usually you can look at them or feel them and see if they are bad. if they have a burnt spot on the, they are bad and need to be replaced. if they dont have a burnt spot, grab hold and wiggle them between you fingers. if you feel something rubbing together, or feel a soft spot replace them.
