Does the whole truck shake when you rev the engine trying to move it?

I have heard that due to slight misalignment/wear in the transfer case the unit is not quite in the selected position. Suggest you do several selections between 2wd and 4wd etc. Other thought would be pranksters did not block up the hack end?? did they.

yes that plunger is a factory plug during installation. Finding this plug in the trans, means the tranny fluid has never been changed, unless someone didnt remove that plug. even new vehicles use that plug
