I was driving home Thanksgiving night from my girlfriends parents house and all of a sudden it just sputtered and died on me. I was at my girls parents house because she told me to keep in touch with them while she is deployed in Iraq . All in all, a bad Thanksgiving . Anyways, it's a 93 150 with the 300 I6. Replaced the plugs (looked like crap), wires, distributor, rotor, ignition coil, ignition module and have another part, but not sure if going to put it on. After reading a lot of these, the problem sounds like the pin in the bottom of the dizzy sheared off cause the rotor don't move when you crank it, and she wants to turn. New starter earlier this year, better want to turn over. Not getting any spark from the dizzy or the coil. Can't think of too many other ignition parts to replace though. How hard should it be to pull the dizzy out? Tried pulling, but didn't move. Might have to smack it a little to loosen it. Any ideas, confirmations or anything will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any advice that anyone can give me.
Figured out that it was the timing gear. The little one chewed up the big fiber composite one. Piece of crap. Anyone know where I can get the tool to remove the big gear? It says to use a two jaw puller to remove it, but I can not get the jaws under it to grip and can't keep it gripped.
I ended up completly ripping all the fiber off and was left with that steel round all around the shaft, so I took a chisel and hammer and started smackin lateral grooves in about 3 places and it loosened up, some, that thing is a PITA to get off, I think I heated it up to. When I sheared mine I heard a big "clunk" so I kept driving, well when i got back to town since i was running lower rpms it started gettin off a tooth at idle and i got in my drivway and boom, she died, I did drive on it about 10 miles though.
