third motor...
im getting a new-leftover 2005 350 CC SRW (6.0 of course) for my first truck (yes im still 15). my plans are a bansk six-gun BUNDLE (intercooler and exhaust, all the goodies), a kelderman air ride lift(4-10").
We have a large landscaping business, with about 9-10 fords. our newest truck is a '04 F-550 6.0 torqshift, with a 11ft aluminum bed (sharp indeed...
).i love it- but the bad thing is, its got it's own stall in the dealer-.. its going to get its third motor next week...
at 5,800 miles, it left us sit alongside the road. the cause of the problem was that the #3 cylinder burnt up (from a lack of fuel= bad/faulty injector, i think) got a whole new crate motor
it has been in the shop 4-5 times since then for reprogramming the ECM and whatnot, and lots of petty shyt.
at 13,100 miles, it happened again. no power(seems like tranny is slipping in/out of gear, but the motor is fine) then we saw white smoke pouring out, then black, and when it idles, its blue. its also shaking the 9800 pound truck like crazy. somethings out of balance...
took it into the dealer and they diagnosed it with a 7% loss in compression in the #3 cylinder. 7% seems like rings or a tiny hole to me. its the same cylinder again, and we asked if they used new injectors when the replaced the motor. they said that was the only thing that wasnt replaced (stupid, huh?) SO, the problem seemed to be the one lonely injector, not the motor. im guessing a big 'ol hole in the piston, which is causing the black/blue smoke. The motor oil is going up thru the hole in the piston, out past the valves, and out the pipe. time to order a new crate motor for me FORD!!!
