there is a 93 bronco for sale I'm looking to buy. It's all auto, leather, Eddie bauer, 4x4, w/ 351. The engine is supposedly pretty new from ford, but looks as there isn't a good seal around covers, because there is some oil on the engine and plugs (outsided of plugs). It is lifted, but not sure if it's body or suspension. (What's the difference?) there is some damage, in both corners at the bottom close to the doors, of the removable top. There is no window on driver side or back. Not sure if it's missing or won't roll up. It has been raining inside this truck for at least three months. The guy wants 2500. I'm afraid of there being electrical problems due to rain. the odometer is digital so I don't know mileage. What do you think? I'm trying to justify why I don't want to spend 2500 on it. EVen if it starts now, what's the gurantee tomorrow?
How many miles on it and did you check all the fluids to make sure that none of them smelled burned? If you turn on the truck you can get milage, not that hard. If he won't even let you turn the thing on then I'd say no way right off the bat.
The interior being open to the elements like that tells you the guy doesn't give a rat's butt about it. It probably wasn't taken care of or maintained like it should have been, and that will lead to problems for the next owner. I would think very hard about whether you want to part with $2500 for it.
I haven't met with the guy yet. I'm sure he'll allow me to turn it to check mileage. My main concern is the potential water damage to the electrical system and damage just in general. Regardless of mileage, what'd ya think?
I don't want to pay 2500. I'm trying to justify to him why I want pay that amount. the truck was originally a preachers at a local church. He tried to sell it for a few weeks by parking in the church lot by the street with a for sale sign. A few weeks later he parked it further in the parking lot without the sign up. He pretty much gave up selling it and passed it on to someone within the church he works with and gave them the option to sell so he didn't have to be bothered with it. Prior to the obvious three months of rain he was trying to sell it for 2500. I really want it for possible engine, transmission, lift, and other misc. hardware. Granted what my uses for the truck may be, Just from a buyer to seller perspective w/o intentions to work on it yourself, what $$ amount do you think would be reasonable?
