Greetings! I am in the Christmas shopping mood (for myself of course) and am looking at getting a couple things for the X. One of the toys that has caught my eye is the Hypertech programmer. It states that you will get more HP and torque, as well as firmer shifts, and the real cool thing (at least for me) is that I can reprogram the speedo for the bigger tires that I am running. Has anyone purchased this $300+ dollar gadget, and if so, do you have any feedback?? Thanks, Mike.
I bought the programmer for my 200o x with th 6.8 v10. I used it once and I don't recomend using it with a blower. I have a paxton novi 2000 and all that was produced was top end acceleration. I would like to sell the programmer if u are interested let me know. my friend bought one before me and loaded it on his superduty. he was able to adjust ****points, and change his speedo for his smaller tires. (don't ask..) haha let me know if u need anymore info.. ADAM
I am running one on my 2000 X 6.8 v10 2wd, Mainly bought for firming up the shift points on transmission seems to work well not sure of the performance though. I also installed airaid intake, throttle spacer and gibson cat back exhaust so not really sure which one made the most inprovment since It was done at the same time. Would be nice to put on dyno to really see the numbers and compare to stock HP and TQ. But then again if it isnt much gain it might make me cry to know after spending all that money.
I got my 2000 X V10 recently mainly for towing but I'm really disappointed in the performance in everyday driving. I went to pass somebody on a 2 lane road the other day (not towing) and had to say a prayer to make it in time!
I had the Cheebie Suburban before and it really moved. I wrote off the difference to the weight, but geez, I have 25% more cylinders now.
Is this normal or have I got a real dog here?
Does the Hypertech help or should I look at big exhaust or intake mods first?
