Aux wire for trailer
I'm trying to get the interior lights in my trailer to work without having the parking lights on my 2000 f-250 on at the same time and was told the Aux post wasn't connected on the 7-way plug from the truck. I've removed the plug from the bracket and found a black/yellow wire going to the center post. The test light shows this wire isn't hot.
Will simply splicing a wire from this B/Y wire to the battery work or will it bleed back to something I'm not aware of.

If you cut the black/yellow wire back at the plug, taped off the end going up front, and ran a new wire hooked to the b/y going to the plug, all the way up front, with a fuse or circuit breaker right before you hook to the battery positive, I should work.
