Water leak
I have a 97 4X4 SuperCab Splash and suddenly started to get water under the matt on the drivers side. I thought that maybe leaves got into the cowl area and rain water would fill up and get inside somehow. I took off the wiper blade arm access plate and it's all clear.
I can't get my fat head inside close enough to see anything. The foot brake bracket is rusted like it may be getting wet but it's not painted so it might rust anyway. I've used a flashlight while going through a carwash but you can't see anything.
Thinking that it had to be coming in from the door seal, I bought the wide one that goes across the top and down along the windshield. That didn't help. The last thing I did was to run a bead of silicone rubber underneath the windshield's rubber lip on the top and two sides. That failed at the next rainfall too!
The flex conduit from the door into the cab was another thought but looks good. It really gets wet easily like it's a large opening. I've been using a wet vac lately.
I'm getting to dread rain and rather have snow lately but melting snow gets inside too!
I'm thinking about using tape on the rubber lip around the windshield and maybe some plastic in other places.
I'm really stumped now! This truck only has 25,000 miles on it!! Anyone else run into a similiar problem before?
