Fuel Odor
I have a 1985 F-250 with the 460 and 4bbl Motorcraft carb.
I had my trusty mechanic do some front end work and at the same time fix a leaking accelerator pump gasket which he did.
About 6 months later the gasket was leaking again (and I mean leaking) so I lifted the carb and tightened the screws which solved the problem. However, as there was a gas smell due to the leaking gas on the manifold there is still a strong gas odor not only around the truck but also in the cab after it sets awhile closed up. I have looked all over and there is no physical evidence of gas anywhere.
Would appreciate any ideas as to what to look for now.
