Clip trick.

I just replaced a few fenders and the entire front grill on my 78 F150. While working on the grill shell, I discovered the plastic clips used to screw in the grill were a major pain to remove, and even more of a pain if you wanted to ever use them again. A simple solution I found was to buy a 5/16 vacuum hose tee and use a torx screwdriver. Since the back of the clips (if that's what you really call them) fan out and keep the piece in the grill, slide the vacuum hose over the back of the clip to compress it. Then slide the screwdriver through and tap on the back of the clip. They pop right out, and if you don't hammer on them too hard, you can reuse them. Mine were original, so using pliers on them was out of the question. It just ripped the backs right off making them unusable. Once I figured this out, me and my son were popping them off left and right..
