Have you considered the "Yellow pages" I am building my entire truck with S/S Allens from the fastner" supply. Also look under " Nuts & Bolts" Hardware, Industrial" and " Screws"
Let me now when you think you found a good deal and I'll let you know if it really is. I have been selling the stuff for years and am retiring from it after I ebay off my current stock. Polishing is hard work.
I buy all my large quantities of nuts and bolts from McMaster-Carr. They carry everything you could possibly think of and their prices are pretty good. Quantities are usually in boxes of 50's or 100's. They don't just carry nuts and bolts either. I just placed an order for tube straps, air fittings, grommets, stainless cap screws, and some heim joints. They've got it all.
McMaster has come WAY down in fastener prices! I used to buy for half what they charged (in bulk). They look like a pretty good source now. You'll have to find a local industrial vendor to beat them by much.
McMaster is still overpriced for some things, though. I'm shopping for copper piping for air lines and their 10 foot L pipe is 17 bucks while Lowes is 11 bucks (and no shipping).
What do you guys think about the fastener kits that are out there for the whole vehicle? They usually run around 300 bucks or so for SS.
Yes they are still very nuts on some of their prices. And they still are on some of their bolts too. But not like they were a few years ago. A complete kit for about $300 isn't too bad. If it is truly complete. I ended up having to pay dearly for some of the stuff, like the recessed bed washers for example. A truly complete set won't be real cheap when you're completely done, no matter now you slice it. Even regular iron bolts will set you back a bit after you buy the specialties. That said, S/S is very worth doing unless you live in AZ.
I have used Totally Stainless at 800-767-4781. They have nearly all the fasteners our trucks use and delivery is a few days.
Excellent Company.
