Tranny, are you referring to the shudder when the tcc applies? The fix is a new torque converter. There are a few additives and fluids that supposedly contain friction modifiers that may lessen the symptom slightly but all in all, once the shudder is felt, the damage is done. The wear between the clutch and backing plate will slowly progress worse untill the tcc cannot apply at all. At that point, no you wont feel the shudder. You will however be be setting tcc dtc's and the fix will be to replace the converter.

My 2 cents.

^^Agreed. I have a shudder around 35-50 mph, when the truck shifts to O/D.
I am 99% convinced it is the torque converter, more specifically the locking clutch that is giving me the shudder. I used some tranny fix, and it went away for a while but simply returned. Replacement is the real fix for it.

BTW, if you leave TC shudder alone it will slowly degrade your fluid and cause bits to start floating around which will then destroy other parts of your tranny. You don't want to leave this kind of shudder alone for too long or you will be looking at a rebuild.

Good Luck,
