ive got a door and fender off a 78 or 79 F 250, it has trim on it that i've never seen befor, it sits in the bodyline, its almost flat with a little rib in the middle. is this factory trim or did a dealer put it on? it couldn't have been a backyard job cause it looked nice. if the truck i took the parts off of had all the trim on it i would have saved it for my '75.
I've got some of that trim. its a narrower strip of chrome without the black rubber down the middle. Mine is a '73 Ranger. I think the stuff with the rubber was for XLT's??
Yeah, two different bodyside mouldings were offered. The Ranger XLT's had the vinyl insert. And some Rangers had either vinyl or no vinyl. My '74 Custom has the thinner version without the vinyl insert. Don't see it a lot. Most trucks had the vinyl insert. I think the trim with the vinyl insert came as part of a package. The thinner moulding was factory installed on trucks as a regular production option when ordered.
yep is it's a 79 and it has moulds it would be called the race trace moulds they were made between 78-79 they would be factoryand if it look's good then keep it on your truck
I believe I have that trim on my truck (see gallery). It was on the truck when I bought it. I've only seen it on one other truck. I don't know if it's factory or not.
