I turn the switch, wts light came on then went off as usual,but..............the glow plugs didn't cycle, would not start. This is the 2nd time it happened. Any ideas?
Check all the GPs for condition with a test light, clamp to positive battery terminal and probe to bullet tip of GP (bullet connector removed) if it lights then consider it good.
Replace GPs with Beru/Motorcraft only..........if more than 1-2 do the whole set 8 or they will continue to burn out one at a time.
I had similar problems with my truck. Ended up having at least 3 bad glow plugs-they were champions. I also had one glow plug that was testing as good but was not heating properly. If you don't have motorcraft plugs in it now, I would replace them all with motorcraft plugs. If wait to start doesn't stay on for around 10 seconds on cold startup this may indicate at least one bad glow plug. My truck went from barely starting in 60 degree weather to starting perfectly on 30 degree mornings.
