new Cam Sensor just went bad?

I have a 95 powerstroke, took the old cam sensor out, replaced it with a new one....

....about 400 miles later....it is acting up again. It runs, but barely. Could I have installed the sensor in the wrong position?

It ran great and then all of a sudden it just started acting up. I can shut it off and let it sit for a minute, then it will run good for about half a mile then start running bad again. Could there be a loose ground?

I replaced the sensor with the original ford part # F6TZ-12KO73-A........
but I have another new one # F7TZ-12KO73.....Is this part compatible with the 95?

My DTC codes are :Exhaust Pres Cntrl valve range/perf
:Camshaft Pos Sensor Circuit Intermittent(bank1/1 Sens)
:Camshaft Pos Sensor Circuit Error
:Internal Ctrl Mod KAM Error

HELP!

THANKS!!!!!!!!!

Did you clear all codes when you replaced it the first time? When the CPS doesn't send a signal it will shut the truck off, thats why I'm asking. Maybe first code is were your problem is EBPV.

No, I didnt clear them when i first changed it.... I did try to clear them after it started messing up, it didnt help though. The truck will still run now, but it feels like its running on one cylinder

The parts guy at international said there are two cam position senstors avalable. One with silver contacts and one with gold contacts. Make sure you have the right one. I think the silver contacts are for the older psd's.
