In the begining....June 100 degrees. Compressor quits in max setting. Rev the engine ( in neutral )and the clutch re-engages. This got more common over several weeks. This problem began when slowing from highway speeds. It would idle for hours in Texas heat and cool very good....til you took off.
November 80 ish. Now the problem happens all the time, even under constant speeds, except still is great just idling. Also now the blower sometimes will not come on when the vehicle is started, but once on it stays on. The compressor IS engaged when the fan not blowing. Turning the ***** back and forth dont seem to help. System is charged properly according to guy operating the guages. The high pressure switch was changed with same results.
ANY IDEAS ???? Thanks....
FYI..Diesel Kleen adds 1.5 mpg using about 18 oz per fill-up. 25-28 gals.
Had to change Throttle Position sensor @ 145K
Putting in the third CPS tonight. 166K
Moderate chip since 10K
the new r134 systems have to be at just the right pressure, if you have too little or too much in the system it will not function properly. on the old r12 systems you just filled them up until they would not take anymore, you cannot do that on the newer systems. you can get a pressure gauge at most auto parts stores and check it.
It is real critical that 134A be charged by weight not just by a gauge. If the system is low, under highway speeds the system can freeze. During Idle condition gauges may read normal. I would suggest you have the system evacuated, vacumed, and recharged. Remember to charge it must be done by weight. The blower motor sounds like a loose conection somewere.
