:-X23 Hey guys, I believe you all own the last year of the mechanical speedo. If so, pull the instrument cluster and disconnect the speedo cable. dump some ATF down the inside of the cable. be liberal with it. reassemble it and test drive immediatly.

Had the same problem on a Crown Victoria back when they had cable driven spedos. The factory manual recommends silicon grease. It does not harm rubber.So I bought a tube of Sil Glyde from NAPA. Worked great, fixed the problem. Also use on many other areas that are rear rubber, brakes, cotact points. etc
