Taillight Problem...

Taillight Problem...

My rear right talilight doesnt work, I changed the bulb and it still dont work. Thanks

Take the bulb out and look at the socket. Is it all melted together? The connection might not be getting made if that's the case.

Both tail lights are driven by the same wire going back to rear of the truck. It feeds the rear truck harness wich feeds each side. The problem would appear somewhere between the harness plug under the rear of the bed and the right light. You should have a ground on one wire and 12 volts on the other one. Either will cause the light not to work.

As I recall the brown wire is the 12 volts to the taillights. Do your brake lights and turn signals work? and, what year is your truck.

its a 1983, and the blinker, tailight, or brake light dont work. shall i check the wired..... or ground?

I fixed the problem, i just got a whole new wire harness off another ranger.. workin like a charm thanks for the info much appreciated
