Truck modification help

All,

Just want to get the opinion from the forum on certain modification I would like to do to my truck.

2000 F150 Extend Cab 4x4 4.6L

1) Would like to install a 6 in suspension lift. What is a good brand to purchase? Fabtech, Procom,......
2) Would like to replace the front bumper with a heavy duty bumper/grill guard. Is this possible? One dealer I went to said no and another said yes due to the suspension of the 4x4.
3) Read the tire information so I am ok on this.

Any help is greatful.

Thanks.

martinjose.

I am looking at a Fabtech lift kit for my 02 4x2. They make very good quality stuff. I am sure you can add a brush guard onto the front regardless of it being 4 wheel drive or not.

I thought that was expensive stuff, please let us know how much for the kit and time estimate on the labor involved. I always have wanted to do a 3" lift, 6" and I'd need a ladder to get in...wouldn't that be cool though.

I hear a lot of the guys like the Fabtech kits. Their shocks aren't that spiffy though and most of them go with a different shock.

I have a Ranch Hand on my 97 Lariat 4x4. But the tow hooks had to be taken off in order to put it on. You can see pics of it in my gallery.

I have a Fab-tech 6" lift and 35" tires. Installation was a breeze, I did it myself in a day and a half. Fabtech does not drop the transmission like some other brands. This adds a couple degrees to drive line but maintains clearance. I haven't had a problem at all from the drive line. It is totally bolt on, You'll drill 4 holes total. I have installed Procomp Fabtech and RCD lifts and Fabtech by far was the easiest. I am biased now.
For the bumper you are on your own. I kept the straight stock look.you can check out my truck in my gallery.

Good choise with the RanchHand front replacement bumper & grill guard. That will look very good.

Post some pics in your gallery when you get done. I want to see how it all turns out.
