Just want to get the opinion from the forum on certain modification I would like to do to my truck.
2000 F150 Extend Cab 4x4 4.6L
1) Would like to install a 6 in suspension lift. What is a good brand to purchase? Fabtech, Procom,......
2) Would like to replace the front bumper with a heavy duty bumper/grill guard. Is this possible? One dealer I went to said no and another said yes due to the suspension of the 4x4.
3) Read the tire information so I am ok on this.
I am looking at a Fabtech lift kit for my 02 4x2. They make very good quality stuff. I am sure you can add a brush guard onto the front regardless of it being 4 wheel drive or not.
I thought that was expensive stuff, please let us know how much for the kit and time estimate on the labor involved. I always have wanted to do a 3" lift, 6" and I'd need a ladder to get in...wouldn't that be cool though.
I have a Fab-tech 6" lift and 35" tires. Installation was a breeze, I did it myself in a day and a half. Fabtech does not drop the transmission like some other brands. This adds a couple degrees to drive line but maintains clearance. I haven't had a problem at all from the drive line. It is totally bolt on, You'll drill 4 holes total. I have installed Procomp Fabtech and RCD lifts and Fabtech by far was the easiest. I am biased now.
For the bumper you are on your own. I kept the straight stock look.you can check out my truck in my gallery.
Thanks for the help. This is what I am going to do:
1) Super lift-- 6in lift. Installed 2140.00
2) Replacement front bumper with grill guard (Rranchhand) and replacement bumper. Installed 1120.00
3) LT315R75-16 with 16x8rims from Discount tires. Cost 1050.00
