i have a 2000 f-250 and it recently has developed a very creeky cab. i was just woundering if anyone out there has had the same problem. maybe there is a easy fix. the truck has 85000 miles on it. thanks
Have a few in mine with only 22,000 - has been to the dealer for it but they don't seem to ever fix the problem. This is the one thing that annoys me with it- an 03' truck with few miles and still seems to have a few rattles and creeks - I think theirs just to much plastic on plastic in the cabs. Cold weather seems to make it even worse!!!
The brand X models seem to be as bad if not worse - I may be kind of bisas though.
Adam42481, where on the cab is the creak (or creaks) coming from? If it truly is your cab, and not something like squeaking springs (pretty common for our 4WD trucks), the first place I'd start looking would be at the body mounts. Seems as far back as I can remember, my truck has had a creaking/popping when the suspension is really flexed out, or if I enter/exit a steep driveway at a good speed. I've always chalked it up to being the body mounts. Some of my body mounts have been loose in the past, namely the mount under the drivers floorboard (which is now shot to heck, and creaks whenever I make a left turn). Post back if you need help getting to the mounts to tighten 'em.
Over lunch I remembered that about two months ago I dynamatted behind my rear seat - essentially it's like putting on road tar. I placed it on the metal behind my rear seat in order to deadin road noise and vibration - I noticed while doing this that the carpeted peace of plastic that covers the rear cab seems to resognate at lot of sound - kind of a hollow plasticy sound so since I was in the mess I ran weather stripping around the edges of the plastic - seemed to help a little - Also when I had taken it in to the dealer they applied some stuff called "quite seal" (or something like that) on all of the weather stripping along my doors. I will take a look at my reciept to night and see I that was the actual name of the product is.
Good luck getting rid of the creak - there's nothing more anoying than rattles, creaks, and whistles. Keep us posted.
The cab is flexy it was one of the changes I was looking for in 2005 but it did not happen. The whole cab will flex and creak at the doors and in the dash area. Nothing you can do about it. The harder the life of the truck the creakier it will be.
Well,
I have a few creaks which "seem" to be coming from somewhere in the drivers side rear, but it is not that bad & is something I have just come to accept as just one of those things a 21ft long 6700# truck will have at some time or another. I have vastly more things that I like and so farI have never owned a perfect vehicle.

My 02 F350 developed some squeeks too,,Mine problem was the doors. Somewhere on here someone told me to put about 2 wraps of black tape on the latching bar. The Jaws of the locking mechanism are on the door, the bar that you put the tape on is on the actual cab of the truck, stopped all the squeaks for me and doors still open and close fine. i also did this on my 2000 and 2001 Superdutys also,, The 2001 squeeked like crazy and the wife hated it,that was her only complaint with her SD after about 76,000 miles. The wife has a new navigator now and it also is starting to squeek around the doors.
thanks for all the info. i guess i hit on a good subject. the creaky noise really drives me nuts. it seems to be coming from the whole cab as it flexes. i notice most of the noise comming from the rear seat area and near the tops of the doors. i feel like sometimes im driving a bus because it creaks so bad. i will check the cab mounts but i think it is just from the frame being twisted. its a crew cab long bed so the frame rails are like 25' long. also i notice when i put my lift on it that it got worst. i would say that its from the sup. being more stiff. which causes the frame to twist. i wish there was some way to fix it. its kinda embarrasing. thanks
I have an '03 CC, the cab/doors started creaking with only 30 miles on the truck. It has been to the dealer 5 times for this problem. 2 weeks ago they installed the second set of door seals and did another door re-adjustment. Now its worse then ever, the Ford factory Rep is going to look at my truck next week. This problem annoys me to the point of asking them to take the truck back. For the price I paid for my SD it shouldn't sound like an old truck, it only has 22K miles on it, and as suggested by my dealer turning the stereo up louder isn't an acceptable solution. Will let you know what the factory rep says Tuesday....
I was recommended in a post a while back to lubricate the door seals where they come into contact with the doors. The recommended product was "Door-ease" a stick lubricant which seems like a light wax or paraffin. I applied it to my 03 in the summer (might be hard to apply in the winter) and at first it didn't seem to do much but after the third application over a month period the squeaks have seemed to diminish. Give it or something like it a try and don't give up on the first application.
Well I do not know if all of you have fixed your noises but what I found was that the top of the doors (metal) was rubbing the door seals (rubber) this was making the paint actually rub off of the door. My cure was to wax the door and keep the rubber seals lubed with Formula 2000. Also there is a campaign for the leaf springs in the front that is actually white plastic shims that stops the squeaking from the axle up front. Hope this helps some of you with this annoying problem
I have the same problem on my 03 F250 CC 24K miles, I really notice that it goes alway during the summertime or warm weather, it comes back in the winter time. I did the same as other take to the dealer try different lubricants, lately I have not heard any more, today its 56F and have not heard it yet. But I think I am gonna look for the stuff that another member listed. Good luck and hope we find a cure for the creeky blues.
