shock installation question

This might be a silly question. I just got new bilstein shocks for my 00 ranger 4wd and wondered if I could install them without lifting the vehicle and releiving the tension on the springs/torsion bars. Yes, I have changed shocks before but I am lazy and this job will have to be done in the dark and cold since I don't have a garge.

I put Bilstiens on my 98 4x4 without lifting it or taking tires off. The new shocks have a big zip tie on them so they are collapsed. Just don't cut that until they are bolted in. The rear shocks are REALLY easy, and the front is a little trickier, but not really bad. To get to the top bolt, take off the rubber gap guard in the fender, much easier to get to it that way. Let us know how you like the bilstiens

Great news. That fits into my time and energy budget. Installation without removing the wheels. Thanks. I will post the driaveability of stock verses Bilstein later in the week.
